What decade do you belong in?

This is what I got:
You're the 40s!

The 1940's were dominated by World War II that bought death and distruction. But it was also the start of big band and jazz music that included artists such as Bing Crosby and Frank Sinatra. The people danced to the jitterbug and wore Zoot Suites. It was the era of Heyday movies that starred actors like Cary Grant and Elizabeth Taylor. Congrats to you!

This is why people shouldn't drink and drive...

I've been a fan of the site Twilight Continues for a while. It has one of my fave fanfic's on it (Edge of Night...check it out! It rocks). Anyway, check out this story on her page:

It's a reminder why no one should drink and drive. Be responsible! I personally don't think I would want to lose my job, my life, or end someone else's life because I thought I could drive!

Nothing new

Nothing new is really going on right now. The kids are with their mom for the summer (so I get a bit of a break...who am I kiddin I miss the little buggars!) and Scott and I are just working. His shift at the SLCO Jail is going to change. He will now be on the jail tactical team. So now starting July 13 (wow, my birthday to...what an amazing day to start a new shift!) he will be working twelves. Things are good! The TM's (for those that don't know it's Twilight Mom's...laugh if you want, but it's a fun group) are meeting at Hogle Zoo this weekend, super excited. I'm going to take Ethen and Marley with me. I wouldn't be a TM without my kids! I also signed up to help with the New Moon Movie Event that will be happening at the South Towne Expo center in November. That should be a blast. I'm super excited to see what committee I'm going to be put on. I'm still getting my bum out of bed every morning at 4:45 and working out on the treadmill. Still working for the Sheriff's Office. Things are just same old stuff. I do turn 30 in a little less then a month. A bunch of us are going to go to Wendover. Should be interesting. Yeah, my life is pretty boring right now. When something neato happens I'll put it on this little cutsy blog. Maybe I will get some cute pics on Saturday. Gotta go to bed now. Smoochies:)

What is the big deal...

So I was checking out my twitter this morning and the lovely Ginger_Swan posted a video about Rob Pattinson. He is talking about how he doesn't like children...at all. What is the big deal? He is still young, I'm sure children are the last thing on his mind. I think it's HILARIOUS! Maybe that is because I'm not having children (I have two step kids that occupy my time just fine thank you very much) but I like kids...most of the time...when I can hang out with them and then give them back to the rightful parent:) Anyway, here is the video. I watch it and it makes me laugh. His facial expression cracks me up too. His face totally changes and contorts when he mentions children. HAHAHA

Tell me what you think. Cheers to Rob for at least being straight forward about it.

Air Show at Hill

Here are some of the photos from the air show. Some of them turned out and some didn't. I took the photo of the one that says Travis for my bro-in-law. He was in the Air Force and is now a rocket man of some sort. It was a lot of fun. It was a bit hot and, again, despite my best efforts with the sunscreen my face got fried.

Happy Anniversary

So it's our Anniversary today. Isn't that crazy??? We went to an air show up at Hill Air Force Base for our day date (I told him he had to plan it out this year) and then we went to The Bayou (where we had our first date...awe cute). Then we went home and watched The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. I'll have to post the pictures later from the air show. That was super cool! Anyway, here is to many more years! Love ya babe!

Disneyland 2009

Scott and I decided a year ago that we wanted to take the kids to Disneyland. It was an awesome (sometimes chaotic) trip. We left on Sat May 30 super early in the morning, and got to Anaheim at 2:30 (we really got there at noon, but Scott wanted to drive around Rancho Cucamonga where he grew up). The weather was perfect. It stayed in the sixties and was a bit overcast. The park on Sunday was deserted. The biggest wait we had all day was about 20 minutes. California adventure was pretty funny. The Grizzly Rapids ride was great (even though I got soaked both times we went on it) and the Hollywood Tower of Terror was insane! Poor Marley just sat there with her mouth open in shock and Ethen had a look of sheer terror on his face. GOOD TIMES!!!!! On our last night at the parks we went on Splash Mountain (for our tenth time) and I somehow managed to get in the very front. It was RIDICULOUS! I got soaked so bad that my hoodie wouldn't dry and somehow I hurt my tail bone, but once again it was totally worth it. We did a 2 day park hopper and stayed at the Portofino Inn. The Inn isn't that far from the park (right across the street) so we ended up just walking over. Food of course was expensive, but it was worth it. We went to Huntington Beach on Tuesday and despite our best efforts all walked away with a sunburn somewhere on our bodies. We got up Wednesday and drove home stopping in Vegas on our way. We HAD to hit M&M's World. Love that place. Then off to our destination of home. It was a short trip, but it was still fun. I think the kids will remember this trip for years to come. We got a photopass so some of our pics were taken from professionals (it's free but the photos are EXPENSIVE!). I haven't bought those yet, but once I do I will post them on here. Now it's back to reality. Have to go back to work Monday, woot woot!

A Little Bit Wicked by Kristin Chenoweth

I read this on our recent road trip to Disneyland. I totally loved this book. Kristin Chenoweth is an amazing person with a great spirit. Her book takes you on a journey of her life on and off Broadway. There is a cute section of photos in the middle of the book. There is so much I didn't know about her. She has Meniere's Disease (vertigo) and she hurt her neck flipping her hair during Wicked. She is someone that you would want to have as a best friend or sister, and the writing style is hilarious. I had to read a bunch of the paragraphs out loud to Scott because it was so funny. I totally recommend this book. Go out and buy it, or check it out from the library!
