Vacation time...

We are leaving tomorrow morning for Disneyland so I won't be blogging for a week. I might try from my cell phone, but I think I will be too scatter brained for that:) I'll take lots of pictures and will hopefully post them when we get back:) Super duper excited...for the beach! Haha. Smoochies:)

The Sounds/Paramore/No Doubt

Melanie and I went to this concert at the E Center last night. It was so great! It was the best concert I've been to in a long time. I heart Hayley Williams and Gwen Stefani. The Sounds were new to me, but their music was awesome! I got some videos and photos on my cell phone. They didn't turn out great, but it's still better then nothing!

Happy Memorial Day

Happy Memorial Day. This day has significant meaning for me. My grandfather was in the Army and served in Korea. My great grandfather served in WWII in the Army. My father served in Vietnam in the Navy. A few of my uncles have served in the military and my mother was in the Army. I have the utmost respect for those who serve our country to protect freedom and make things safe for us. It's a hard job to do and countless men and women have lost their lives doing it. Remember them. Good Poem:

In Flanders Fields By: Lieutenant Colonel John McCrae, MD (1872-1918) Canadian Army
In Flanders Fields the poppies blow Between the crosses row on row, That mark our place; and in the sky The larks, still bravely singing, fly Scarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the Dead. Short days ago We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow, Loved and were loved, and now we lie In Flanders fields.
Take up our quarrel with the foe: To you from failing hands we throw The torch; be yours to hold it high. If ye break faith with us who die We shall not sleep, though poppies grow In Flanders fields.
Good song:
Find the Cost of Freedom by Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young
Daylight again, following me to bedI think about a hundred years ago, how my fathers bledI think I see a valley, covered with bones in blueAll the brave soldiers that cannot get older been askin' afteryouHear the past a callin', from Ar- -megeddon's sideWhen everyone's talkin' and noone is listenin', how can wedecide?(Do we) find the cost of freedom, buried in the groundMother earth will swallow you, lay your body downFind the cost of freedom, buried in the groundMother earth will swallow you, lay your body down(Find the cost of freedom buried in the ground)

The Twilight Party

As usual, I got this crazy idea in my head to have a Twilight party. Yes, I know that the DVD was released last month, but what better excuse to get my friends together and swoon over Edward, Jacob, Jasper (my personal fav) and Emmett. Scott thinks I'm crazy and has been making fun of me. It's okay, I'm a big girl, I can handle it. There are many photos to share. I gave a preview of the invites so now let's do the favors. I found SOOOO many cute things on ETSY. There were pendents, twilight tags, some candy wrappers that I wrapped over Nestle Crunch bars, cute magnets, sparkly lip gloss, and altoids (cause Edward has sweet breath). I made the bags also, that was a messy project. I had glitter EVERYWHERE! Scott wanted to know if I was trying to re-enact the meadow scene. He just thinks he is so funny. Anyway, we had red themed food and fondue. I took the label idea for the rootbeer and jones sodas from the Hostess with the Mostess. They turned out really cute. I made strawberry cupcakes and cherry popcorn balls. There was milk chocolate and white chocolate fondue, hot tamales, cinnamon bears, and lots of other good treats. Melanie and I thought it would be a good idea to make jungle juice. Really didn't taste that great. Sabrina brought pomegranate martinis, which were SOOO good. We were supposed to start the movie at 7:30 but probably didn't start it until 8 or 8:30. It was still so much fun. I'm really glad everyone came.

WOO-HOO

I went to the dentist today and I am FINALLY done with my top invisalign tray! WOOT WOOT! I'm super excited. The buttons (the things that hold on the invisalign and help move the teeth) were taken off. I only had 3 on the top teeth so it wasn't that bad. It feel so great to finally have them off. Now I just have to finish with the bottom teeth. I had a bit of a set back with those because one of my teeth wasn't turning properly so I had to move back a few trays. I think I'm on tray 16 of 21. However my dentist said that my teeth look great without that one tooth moving and everything is in line so he took the button off it (I had five on the bottom teeth) and everything is good. Now I have to wear a retainer at night. So super glad to have them done:) Oh and on a different note can I tell you how excited I am for the Twilight party this weekend!!! I have some pretty cute stuff and I have worked with some pretty awesome people getting the favors for the party. I want to post it on here now, but I don't want to run the risk of my friends seeing it. Only a few more days:) Okay, done rambling. Peace:)

What I should be doing...

What I should be doing is going to sleep, what I am doing is checking Twitter and my blog! Step away from the computer Jasmine...step away.

Hola!

So, in response to Nicki's comment, I have LOADS of Etsy suggestions. But I have to wait until Saturday's Twilight party is over before I can post them. A lot of the stuff I've got for the gift bags is a surprise (who am I really kidding, I can't handle surprises! I always ruin them cause I get too excited to give people presents.) I do however have a Twitter now. Not sure if that is a good thing. Sometimes it's nice just to post a quick short sentence so that the people who follow can see what I'm up to. Don't really do it that much, maybe that is why I only have 4 followers so far! Haha. Anywho, here is the like http://twitter.com/JasmineParker. If you feel like checking it out please do:) Sometimes it gets pretty interesting. All right, gotta go to bed. BAH! I can't believe the weekend is over all ready. Time to go to sleep and then get up at 4:45 and get my bum on the treadmill. Is it worth it? Sure it is, makes me feel blah all day long! Haha. This week will fly by though. This year has flown by. And it's going to be BUSY until we get back from Dizzyland. Anway, ramble, ramble, ramble. Such the Jazzy way:) Smoochies.

Latest Project

I'm having a Twilight Party. Okay, make fun of me if you want, I can take it! I saw some really cool party ideas on The Hostess with the Mostess so I thought a party would be really fun. Here are the invitations I made (and even burned myself with the wax seal!). Don't want to give too much away about the favors and such:) The party is on the 23rd so I will have to post more after it's all said and done:) Didn't the invites turn out cool? I'm very proud of myself:)

I was looking for cute t-shirts on

Etsy (imagine, me shopping on Etsy). I found Ellembee. Lisa makes the t-shirts and they are pretty cute. There are a bunch that I want to get, but for now I got this one. It's called dandelion wishes. I love the blue with the brown. I think it looks great! The designs of her shirts are super cute!Anyway, check her out at: http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=5691356

Funny blog!

For all of my friends who are Twilight obsessed (or just need a good laugh!), check out www.twilightwidower.blogspot.com. SO SO SO FUNNY! I think I need to go home and appologize to Scott for bineg so neglectful! Maybe I shouldn't have ordered that shirt from Cafepress.com that says "sparkle you fool, sparkle".

Hope of America

Last night Ethen's class and all the other 5th graders from Fox Hollow went to the Marriott Center in Provo and preformed with a bunch of other schools for Hope of America. It was a pretty nifty little show. I think it kicks off the Provo Freedom Festival, I'm not from Utah Co. (I just live there! haha) so I could be wrong. It was an amazing show. They sang songs and had various dance groups come out and perform. My favorite dancers were Jean's Golden Girls. The oldest woman dancing in the group is 92. ninety frickin two! I hope I can do that when I'm 92. It was pretty fun. Ethen had a good time, and to think he didn't want to go. But the wicked step-mother made him...muaaaaaaaaaaa:) I got some really good photo's of the last song they sang which was called. It was a good time, even though Scott was 15 minutes late for work:)
