Marley's day at McDonalds with the Lehi Fire Dept.

Marley and Ethen did a fundraiser for school and Marley ended up selling a whole bunch of stuff! She got 2nd place out of the whole school. Her class gets a pizza party, but yesterday she got to go with 4 other kids (two of them were from her class) and go on a firetruck with the Lehi Fire Dept. and have lunch at Mcdonalds with her principal. She had a lot of fun and we even got some pictures.

Crafty, Crafty, Crafty

I've been getting super crafty lately. Why you ask have I all of the sudden become so crafty I can't stand myself?? Well, for those of you that know me you know that I can't sit still. I've got too many projects going on all at the same time, but I can't help it. I have to keep busy. And yes, some of my projects I do at work:) Here are a few of the things I've been working on:

I got this vinyl rub on from Stampin' Up! I think
it turned out really cute.

I got this ghost idea from someone elses blog. Super
easy to make.

This is called a Treasure Box. I got the template
from Sabrina. I've still got to do the embelishments
on it, but I think it turned out very cute.

This is what the Treasure Box looks like when
you open it.

These are nugget boxes. I used my cute Halloween
paper. I'm excited to give them out to friends.

Here is one of the boxes close up.

Look at how many I did! I was sitting at work
yesterday and couldn't stop making them.

Funnel Cakes and Navajo Tacos

We went to the State Fair yesterday. After I got off work Scott and the kids met me at the SOB (for those that don't know that means Sheriff's Office Building) and off we went. I thought it was going to be rainy so I dressed for it and wouldn't you know it didn't rain the whole time we were there. We had a lot of fun. Ethen and Marley wanted to fish in the little DNR pond that was set up. They both caught fish in no time. Marley was too scared to touch her fish (blue gil have sharp spines). Ethen had to pose with the Lamb. It was really cute. We didn't get any funnel cakes or navajo tacos (the wanted $9.00 for one!) but we got to see all the animals and arts that we wanted to see. And of course the fair is also good for people watching!

I LOVE this picture!

Ethen posing with the Lamb

He had so much fun.

Look at her face. You can tell she didn't want to
touch the fish.

This pig was a HOG! He was huge. He was
whispering sweet nothings to the female in the
next pen.

This was one of the Tigers that they had doing
shows. They were so amazing to watch.

This Jersey Cow reminded me of Aries a little.

They were all cuddled up.

I DESPISE Election Year!!!!!

I'm SO annoyed about this election year. I know that there is mud slinging every presidential election, but I really think that this year takes the cake. This election year is historical. I'm still not sure who I'm going to vote for. There is a huge percentage of Americans that have no idea who they are going to vote for. I watched both parties conventions and I am leaning toward one candidate more then the other, but the mud slinging and dirt digging that the media is doing really isn't helping my decision (but it's not hurting it either). Honestly its just burning my @$$. We should be proud that this country has come so far! We could either have a black President or a female Vice President. So either way something historical is going to happen. It's just really making me want to shut the television off when the attacks start on Obama/Biden and McCain/Palin. I think it is amazing that these people can balance their families and their jobs. And so what if Obama had an early career as a community organizer and so what if Palin's daughter is pregnant and McCain is old and Biden is well Biden. Is that really going to effect how either one of these people are going to perform their jobs? NO! BAH! No one cares (well I guess people do care or magazines like US Weekly wouldn't be putting stupid headlines on their covers). I feel much better after my temper tantrum:)

My most favorite YouTube video ever!!!

Okay, I LOVE this youtube video. This is me since March when Scott and I started to diligently go to the gym. I've got the biggest sweet tooth! And it's not really for candy (although I don't discriminate) it's mostly pastries and dessert foods. Anyway...enjoy!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e19NrkUcFEQ

Shout out to Scotty

I feel the need to give a shout out to my hubby. He is the best. I was feeling a bit under the weather with bubble guts Tuesday and yesterday and he was there to cheer me up and make fun of me. Such a great guy. I just wanted him to know that he is much loved and appreciated. Even by the kids:)
Okay, so there is this blog and KSL did a story on it. Here is the story: http://www.ksl.com/?nid=148&sid=4108250. Read the story first and here is the link to the blog: http://www.seriouslysoblessed.blogspot.com/. I really do know people like this! And you know who you are!!! What prompted me to even know about it was because I was talking to Scott about joining my new friend Anna's Stampin' Up! club. He sat there and laughed at me and then sent me the link to the blog. It really cracked me up!! Check it out and let me know what you think about it.

Where does the time go!

I'm sitting at work today (wait, shouldn't I be working??) and I was realizing that time goes way to fast. Summer is almost over. I can't believe that it is almost August all ready. It seemed like when I was little summer lasted for 5 or 6 months! Now you blink and you miss it. The kids are growing up so fast. They will be starting school on the 18th of August. I can't believe that Marley will be in 3rd grade and Ethen will be in 5th. I hate to say it but the holiday's will be here before we know it. My cousin Adam and his wife Megan are going to have a baby in August and two of my other cousins (all of them younger) all ready have babies. When did they grow up?? My great-grandmother always told me not to wish my life away. For instance when you are 12 you can't wait to be 13 cause then you are a teenager. Then when you are 13 you can't wait to be 16 to get your license. Then when you are 16 you can't wait to be 18 so you can be an adult. And then of course you can't wait to be 21. I realize that I totally did they thing she told me not to do. I've learned that you have to live every moment and not take it all for granted. Time flies! Enjoy it while you can.

Slacking big time!

I've been so busy with the new job that I realized today I haven't blogged for about a week!!!! Time has been flying with the new job, but nothing really exciting is happening. Things are hectic and busy. The kids are also at their mom's for the time being (it's a summer thing). I don't get home from work until 5:30ish and then Scott and I go to the gym. By the time we get home I'm ready just to veg out. As soon as things calm down I'll for sure post some more stuff.

We are back!

We are back from vacation. It was such an amazing trip. We stayed in Brentwood CA with my Great Uncle and Aunt. It was beautiful. Their house is surrounded by orchards and on our first day there we went and picked cherries. The next day we went to San Francisco. We hung out on Fisherman's Wharf and then we boarded a ferry to Alcatraz. The Alcatraz trip was 15 years in the making. It was AWESOME!!! We had such a good time. There was a former inmate, Darwin Coon, in the bookstore in the cellhouse. I had him sign his book for me. Alcatraz is very interesting, but creepy. We also ventured through San Francisco to the Cliff House. It was pretty windy that day and we were looking for shells. There were a bunch of wind surfers on the ocean. We also went to the Monterey Bay Aquarium. That was so beautiful. Monterey is a pretty town. To wrap up our trip we went to Yosemite. It's a very beautiful place, but very crowded. So let's talk about the gas prices. In NV. it was about 4.05 a gallon. Once we got closer to California it was about 4.09 and then in CA it was anywhere from 4.29-4.69. The most expensive gas we saw was on our way to Yosemite. Right before the park entrance we found a gas station selling it for 5.25!!! Ridiculous. The last couple of days of our trip were spent in Reno. That was fun as well. We spent the 6th (which was our 1st wedding anniversary) driving into Reno. We ended up winning about 200+ dollars on the penny machines which was fun. And now we are back home. It was a great trip. It feels good to be home though.

Hummingbird

We have a new pet at the Parker household. This little hummingbird comes around and hangs out with us when we are on our front porch. Scott had filled the feeder and was walking outside with it when the hummingbird just flew right up to his hand and started drinking. It's not afraid of us at all. It seems that it's favorite time is when I'm outside watering the front flower garden. That is how I got these photos.
